COURSES & CERTIFICATIONS OFFERED

Every new BZI team member begins their journey at SteelTech Academy. Our program ensures everyone starts with the same commitment to safety and quality that defines our work. Learning never stops here. Throughout their BZI career, employees return to SteelTech for:

  • Ongoing OSHA certifications (10 & 30-hour)
  • Equipment mastery – from fall protection to operating our proprietary Innovatech® Panelization Systems
  • Leadership development
  • Specialized workshops on everything from forklift safety to advanced steel erection techniques

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

BZI’s Structural Steel Apprenticeship Program, delivered through SteelTech Academy, is a 2.5–3 year state and federally recognized training pathway leading to a Journeyman Structural Steel certification.
With hands-on instruction in steel erection, welding, decking, rigging, safety (OSHA 10/30), and proprietary equipment operation, the program prepares participants for leadership roles in the steel construction industry.
Apprentices receive on-the-job training at BZI project sites nationwide, with travel, lodging, and meals covered. Open to current and new BZI team members, the program reflects BZI’s commitment to investing in its people and shaping the next generation of industry professionals.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

SteelTech Academy’s Professional Studies Program is designed to prepare current and future BZI team members for leadership roles by focusing on communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and job-specific skills. The program begins with foundational leadership principles and gradually introduces more advanced concepts like conflict resolution, negotiation, and critical thinking, all within the context of the steel and construction industry. Each course is tailored to the participant’s role whether in the field or the office ensuring that content is relevant, accessible, and practical.
Through tools like Procore, Microsoft Office, and E-Colors personality training, students learn to lead effectively, manage conflict, and communicate clearly. With an emphasis on BZI’s values and real-world work scenarios, the program empowers team members to grow personally and professionally, supporting long-term success and career advancement within the company.
